Colin McNie, CAS#384

Colin was born and raised in Scotland where he attended Glasgow University, completing a four year construction/carpentry apprenticeship program. Upon arriving in California, Colin’s first employer was the Los Angeles school district where he worked for five years at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut starting as a carpenter. After a few years he moved into an inspection role performing his first ADA inspections for the Los Angeles School District.

Enjoying the compliance side of the business Colin moved onto the City of Rancho Cucamonga where he worked as a building inspector for five years, leaving Rancho Cucamonga as a Senior Building Inspector he took on the role of Deputy Building Official at the City of Hemet a position that he held for three years before taking on the role of Building Official a position he held for nineteen years. During that time Colin managed multiple departments (Fire prevention, Fire Inspection, Housing Enforcement Manager, Building and Safety Director, Business Licensing Manager, Code Enforcement Manager and Construction Project Manager)

A few projects performed as the Construction Manager include:

  • ADA remodel of a detention center
  • ADA remodel of a community center
  • ADA remodel of the police department
  • ADA remodel of city council chambers
  • ADA remodel of city hall
  • ADA remodel of police department gun range
  • New construction of a 14 million dollar Library
  • New construction of multiple fire stations

On a personal note, taking an interest in the youth of his community Colin has coached soccer, flag football and basketball throughout the years.
